Cafe on
A moment to unwind in the city.
In Shin-Okubo, Cafe on serves Korean sweets like sleepy-bear croffles, generously loaded bingsu, and jiggly Tosuni puddings alongside savory snacks like Korean fried chicken.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A sleepy bear rests quietly on top of the plate when dessert arrives at the table. Situated along the energetic streets of Hyakunincho in Shinjuku, Cafe on welcomes guests with desserts that bring a smile while delivering generous sweetness and flavor.
A primary draw is the croffle, pressed from buttery croissant dough until aromatic and crisp. Beyond the plain version, variations include bitter-sweet Oreo, cinnamon-scented Lotus cookie, tart apple, and seasonal strawberry, each accented by an adorable sleeping-bear ice cream figure. For a cold treat, Korean shaved ice bingsu options include traditional red bean patbingsu, fresh strawberry, mango, and chocolate.
The sweet offerings continue with wobbly Tosuni pudding in vanilla or chocolate, flower tiramisu cake, freshly griddled hotteok, and crisp churros. To drink, visitors can pair their desserts with staple cafe lattes or matcha lattes, smooth cream-topped Einspänners, and an assortment of teas.
Those craving savory fare will find Korean fried chicken, including boneless fried and sweet-spicy gochujang yangnyeom chicken, alongside glutinous rice cheese balls and seasoned fries for a quick bite or casual lunch. Accompanied by K-pop videos projected across large screens, the bright room provides an easy space to gather over desserts and street-food snacks.
